Algeria presides over the new session of the Arab network for national human rights institutions, succeeding the Sultanate of Oman

The General Assembly of the Arab Network for National Human Rights Institutions concluded its work held in the Algerian Republic during the period from 15 to 16 October 2017 at the Eurasian Hotel where Ms. Fafa Zerrougui, President of the National Council for Human Rights, was elected President of the Arab Network succeeding The honorable Sheikh Abdullah bin Shuwain Al-Hosni, Chairman of Oman Human Rights Commission (OHRC).
The Executive Committee of the Arab Network held a meeting under the chairmanship of Mrs. Fafa Zerrougui, President of the Network, in the presence of chairs of member NHRIs and the Executive Director of the Network. The meeting discussed the frameworks of cooperation with the partners. The meeting also briefed the Executive Committee on the recommendations of previous meetings of the General Assembly and the Executive Committee, and the proposed amendment on the statutes of The Global Alliance of National Human Rights Institutions, the Accreditation sub-Committee and other proposals to be discussed at the next meeting of the Alliance. In addition, the meeting discussed the network work plan for 2018 adopted at the meeting of the General Assembly and its implementation.
